Though he’s still feeling good about his verbal pledge, a Florida commit is still hearing from some other programs
Since committing to the Florida Gators in May, Jeramiah McCloud, a three-star defensive lineman from Leesburg (GA) Lee County, has visited Gainesville multiple times. He made his official visit from May 31 to June 2 and returned for unofficial visits the following two weekends to connect with other recruits. McCloud has taken an active role in recruiting, working diligently to help build the class.
Despite his efforts, McCloud acknowledges that the upcoming season will be crucial for influencing some of Florida’s recruitment targets.
“Recruiting for Florida right now is challenging,” McCloud said. “We’re bringing in some recruits and recently secured a major commitment. There are more prospects who will decide soon, and they like Florida. However, many of them want to see Florida win games this season.
They want to see the same coaching staff deliver results. From my conversations with recruits during their official visits in June, it’s clear that winning will be a significant factor.”
McCloud is also keen to see how Florida performs on the field this season and believes it could be a pivotal year for Billy Napier and his staff.
