After Series of Uncertainty Braves gets another positive update After Devastating season ending injury

Although it appears the Braves may not secure another NL East title this season, their campaign is far from over. They are still in playoff contention, holding the final NL Wild Card spot, but the Cubs and Mets are closely pursuing them.

There is still hope for a postseason run. While the Braves may not have the offensive power to be considered favorites, their pitching staff, especially the starting rotation, is exceptional and a rare asset.

Additionally, the Braves could regain one or two All-Star bats. Austin Riley, currently on the injured list, has a less certain return timeline compared to Ozzie Albies. Riley might rejoin the team during the postseason, whereas Albies is expected to return this month.

Grant McAuley reports that Albies is aiming for a mid-to-late September return.

The initial timeline for Ozzie Albies’ return was mid-to-late September, but Alex Anthopoulos recently suggested that an early-to-mid September comeback might still be possible.

Unfortunately, Albies may have limited time to get reacclimated before a potentially crucial series against the Mets, which could impact the postseason race.

In the meantime, Whit Merrifield has performed admirably in Albies’ absence. Once Albies returns, the Braves might move Merrifield to the outfield, which could enhance the lineup. Fans are hoping for an earlier return than the current timeline as the Braves approach the final stretch of the season.
