The Buffalo Bills secured a remarkable Week 1 win against the Arizona Cardinals, overcoming an early 17-3 deficit to claim a 34-28 victory. However, the game came with some setbacks.
Nickel cornerback Taron Johnson exited early due to a forearm injury, and quarterback Josh Allen suffered an injury to his left hand/wrist during a fourth-quarter red zone scramble. After scoring a touchdown, Allen was seen with his left hand/wrist heavily bandaged while backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky began warming up.
Fortunately, Allen was able to complete the game, but his injury to the non-throwing hand will need close monitoring as the team heads into a crucial AFC East clash with the Miami Dolphins on a short week. It’s challenging for any quarterback to deal with a hand injury, especially with the quick turnaround before Thursday Night Football.
Allen said “he’s not a doctor” but he landed on his hand, which caused injury. He was asked if there’s a chance this could cause him to miss time.

During halftime of the Sunday Night Football game between the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams, NBC Sports’ Mike Florio mentioned that the injury looked concerning. However, Allen was not seen with his hand wrapped after the game.
More details about Allen’s injury are expected to be provided by head coach Sean McDermott at his Monday afternoon press conference. While it’s a tough situation for Bills fans, and despite the lack of medical expertise from those at Buffalo Rumblings, it’s clear that Josh Allen’s determination means he’ll likely need to be forcibly kept out of Thursday’s pivotal divisional game if he’s to miss it.
