Fitter and Faster Swim Camps proudly sponsors SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment announcements. For many swimmers, competing at the collegiate level is a lifelong goal achieved through hard work and dedication. Fitter and Faster takes pride in recognizing these athletes and the supporters who have helped them along the way.
Evan Conti, from Batavia, Illinois, has verbally committed to join the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the fall of 2025.
I am incredibly honored to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic journey at the University of Notre Dame! I want to express my gratitude to my family, friends, and Coaches Todd and Glenn from @academy_bullets for their unwavering support throughout this process. A huge thank you to Coaches @ndcoach_chris_lindauer_ and @kameron_chastain for this amazing opportunity! GO IRISH!
Conti, a swimmer for the Academy Bullets Swim Club and Marmion Academy, was featured in the “Best of the Rest” section of our initial class of 2025 rankings. Last November, he was the first swimmer from that class to publicly commit to the Texas Longhorns following the retirement announcement of longtime head coach Eddie Reese.
Texas recruiting slowed as swimmers awaited news of Reese’s replacement, but commitments surged after Bob Bowman took over as the new Director of Swimming and Diving. Conti now becomes the second swimmer from the class of 2024, following Max Goettsch, to switch their commitment from Texas to another program. Goettsch recently announced he’s heading to Cal.
Conti, a backstroke and freestyle specialist, will now join a Notre Dame team that has risen quickly over the past two years under head coach Chris Lindauer, though the program’s future is uncertain due to the men’s team suspension for the entire 2024-2025 season. He will be part of a freshman class that includes Luke Bucaro, Brady Calkins, Ognjen Pilipovic, Zack Oswald, and Owen Tharrington.
