In the first three weeks of the 2024 season, Josh Allen, the franchise quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, was regarded as the frontrunner for the MVP award. However, after the next three weeks, during which the team suffered two losses, doubts arose about his ability to perform at an MVP level without a top receiver.
Following the Bills’ 34-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans, Allen has reestablished himself as the leading candidate for MVP, showcasing a strong performance by completing 21 of 33 passes for 323 yards and two touchdowns.
Despite only rushing three times for a single yard, the Bills’ offense returned to its strengths—scoring in bursts. The acquisition of Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper helped revive Buffalo’s big-play capability.
Although the performance wasn’t flawless, Allen’s effectiveness in the pocket was crucial. “Very impressive,” Cooper remarked about Allen’s play. “Watching him on TV, it seemed like he had 100 great plays. This was no different. He’s a phenomenal player.”
In his debut for the team, Cooper caught four passes for 66 yards and a touchdown. If he can continue to improve, the Bills’ offense could reach elite status again, with Allen likely leading the charge.
