This would be the move, right here.
The past week was a big win for the Buffalo Bills. After defeating their division rival, the New York Jets, in a primetime Monday Night Football game, the AFC East took the spotlight.
The Jets made a splash by acquiring wide receiver Davante Adams, but the Bills responded by trading for Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns. In his debut with Buffalo, Cooper caught four out of five passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Additionally, the Bills delivered a commanding performance against the Tennessee Titans. Although the game started poorly, they rallied to score 34 unanswered points, ultimately winning 34-10.
With a record of 5-2 and sitting atop the division, the Bills are looking like strong contenders. Cooper may just be the offensive boost they needed, but the team isn’t finished making moves.
General manager Brandon Beane has stated that the Bills are fully committed to winning a Super Bowl and won’t hesitate to make further changes if the right opportunity arises.
That said, the Bills very well could look at adding another notable addition prior to the November 5 trade deadline. With Von Miller still serving his four-game suspension and the Bills looking at being true contenders in the AFC, going after a pass rusher makes sense.
The Bills should call about trading for Giants pass rusher Azeez Ojulari
The Bills have received solid production from several players in their pass rush, but adding another strong option could be the key to making a deep playoff run. That’s why targeting Azeez Ojulari from the New York Giants could be a smart move.
With New York facing another likely losing season, Ojulari has lost his starting position, especially with Kayvon Thibodeaux set to return from injury. Once Thibodeaux is back, Ojulari will again be confined to a backup role.
Drafted in the second round in 2021, Ojulari doesn’t seem to fit into the Giants’ long-term plans, but he’s shown strong performance recently, recording 3.0 sacks in his last two games and totaling 4.0 for the season.
At just 24 years old and in the final year of his contract, he presents an appealing trade option. The Giants likely wouldn’t ask for much in return—potentially just a Day 3 draft pick—since they don’t seem inclined to re-sign him. For Buffalo, it would be a valuable half-season rental.
Additionally, Ojulari wouldn’t have to travel far; a short drive would take him from a struggling team to a competitive locker room.
While the Bills don’t necessarily need to make this trade, it aligns with a championship mindset. With a couple of strategic additions, including one on each side of the ball, Buffalo could be primed for a postseason push.
