Dawson Knox’s lack of usage could create a Bills’ trade deadline move

The Buffalo Bills have started the 2024 NFL season strong with a 5-2 record and are well-positioned to claim the AFC East title. They recently acquired WR Amari Cooper, indicating their determination to strengthen the team. While the Bills have several positives going for them, the emergence of Dalton Kincaid, their first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has left little room for former top tight end Dawson Knox in the offense.

This season, Kincaid has made 24 receptions for 269 yards and one touchdown, while Knox has managed only five catches for 47 yards. Since the beginning of 2023, Knox has totaled just 27 receptions during the regular season.

Given Kincaid’s prominent role and the increasing number of trades for offensive playmakers, the Bills might consider exploring the trade market for Knox, who still possesses considerable talent as a tight end.

The Denver Broncos could be a potential trade partner, as they have struggled to get production from their tight ends this year and are focused on developing rookie quarterback Bo Nix. The Bills should aim to acquire a draft pick or two for Knox to further enhance their roster and continue supporting quarterback Josh Allen with young talent for the future.
