Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has won over some Giants fans with his recent comments.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Allen revealed that he is a lifelong Giants fan, unlike Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr. He also expressed his support for the New York Yankees in their matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2024 World Series.
“Umm … I’m a fan of whoever’s playing the Dodgers,” Allen humorously stated (via ABC 7 Buffalo’s Matthew Bové). “I grew up a Giants fan and still love the [Toronto] Blue Jays. We’re rooting for the underdog. Since we’re the only [football] team in New York, we support our local teams. It’s great.”
At 28, Allen has mentioned his Giants fandom previously, including a story about receiving an autograph from Giants legend and new president of baseball operations Buster Posey, which he accidentally smudged.
Allen attended Game 4 of the 2024 World Series with his fellow Bills quarterbacks. He was pleased with New York’s win and hopes the Yankees can stop the Dodgers from taking the championship.
“We went to the game as a quarterback group,” he explained. “[Bills backup QB] Mike White is a huge Yankees fan. I wanted to treat the guys; they’ve been supportive all year. We decided to make a quick trip to Yankee Stadium and got back in time for meetings. It was a good experience.”
As the Dodgers lead the series 3-1, it’s clear who Allen is cheering for.
