Clemson Losses Another Top Talented 4-Star To Eager Rival

Friday, Clemson saw cornerback Graceson Littleton decommit from the Tigers 2025 recruiting class.

On Friday, Clemson’s football program received disappointing recruiting news: Graceson Littleton, a 4-star defensive back from Tampa, Florida, announced he is decommitting from the Tigers’ 2025 recruiting class and reopening his recruitment.

Littleton, a highly-rated recruit who had committed to Clemson in June, decided to part ways, which lowered the Tigers’ national recruiting class ranking from No. 17 to No. 22, according to 247Sports.com.

With the early signing period approaching next month, Clemson’s recruiting class remains small, with only 13 players currently committed to head coach Dabo Swinney’s program.

Swinney usually excels at retaining recruits who commit to the Tigers, but this recruiting cycle has seen several key players withdraw their commitments. In addition to Graceson Littleton, Clemson has also lost commitments from three-star offensive lineman Jaylan Beckley, four-star quarterback Blake Hebert, four-star defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell, and four-star edge rusher Bryce Davis.

Littleton’s decommitment leaves Clemson with just one defensive back recruit in the current class—4-star safety Tae Harris from Georgia.

Losing Littleton is significant for the Tigers, as he ranks No. 75 overall and No. 9 among corners nationwide according to 247Sports composite rankings. According to Tom Loy of 247Sports, Michigan has emerged as a contender for Littleton, who plans to visit Ann Arbor this weekend to watch the Wolverines face top-ranked Oregon.

On the bright side, Clemson’s roster includes a promising group of young cornerbacks. Of the ten corners listed, eight are freshmen or sophomores, so Littleton’s departure won’t be a severe setback for the Tigers.

Even so, this is a notable setback for Swinney and his staff, especially considering the limited size of the current recruiting class. It remains to be seen whether the coaches can secure another recruit to take Littleton’s place.
