JUST IN: Former Buffalo Bills cornerback traded to AFC powerhouse team

The former Bills cornerback signed with the Los Angeles Rams this offseason, but now comes back out east to Baltimore.

The NFL trade deadline is always an exciting time for fans and teams, though it’s a bit less thrilling if your team is in “seller” mode rather than looking to add talent. Many trades have already been made around the league, with the biggest headline being the New Orleans Saints trading star cornerback Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders.

The Buffalo Bills have remained relatively quiet as the deadline approaches, with the only major move being the release of safety Mike Edwards. Their big trade news actually came earlier, after Week 6, when they acquired wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns. While the Bills have largely stayed out of the spotlight, one of their former franchise players, who was released by the team, has now been traded to an AFC North team.

Cornerback Tre’Davious has been traded to Baltimore Ravens

The news, reported by Adam Schefter, reveals that the Baltimore Ravens are set to acquire cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams, along with a 2027 7th-round pick, in exchange for a 2026 7th-round pick.

The Buffalo Bills released Tre’Davious White last offseason due to salary cap constraints, and after dealing with two major season-ending injuries in three years, a separation was inevitable. White signed a “prove-it” deal with the Los Angeles Rams, aiming to return to the form he once had in Buffalo.

However, White struggled to find his rhythm with the Rams, and discussions about his future in LA were ongoing. Now, White is headed to Baltimore, where he will join a Ravens team that has already defeated the Bills earlier this season and is a strong contender in the AFC.

The Ravens have one of the league’s worst pass defenses, and while White’s addition may not immediately fix that issue, it’s important to remember the kind of player White was when healthy in Buffalo. Had it not been for the torn ACL and Achilles injuries, it’s likely White would still be wearing a Bills jersey today.

Buffalo is set to face the Rams in LA next month, where White would have had the opportunity to face his former team for the first time since being released. Now, any potential matchup between the Bills and Ravens may have to wait until the postseason, should the two teams meet again in January.
