The Buffalo Bills will aim to maintain their strong lead in the AFC East when they take on the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday. While the Bills didn’t make any trades before Tuesday’s deadline, they did bolster their defensive line by signing defensive tackles Jordan Phillips and Quinton Jefferson.
Both players have previous experience with the team, reuniting with the Bills to provide additional depth up front. Phillips, who has spent four seasons with Buffalo across two stints, and Jefferson, who played with the team in 2020, were both eager to return.
After his first practice back with the Bills, Phillips expressed his excitement to rejoin the franchise. “I just want to give them enough to stick,” Phillips said. “Finish my career here. That’s it, so whatever I’ve got to do to do that.
Be here for the tenure, that’s what I’m going to try to do. Like I said, seeing the smiles and being actually wanted, it’s a hell of a drug, you know what I mean? You can do a lot for people when it’s in the right environment… I’m an acquired taste, and they like my taste.”
Jefferson, who spent just one season in Buffalo previously, was also thrilled to be back. “I had some options, but definitely wanted to come back here,” Jefferson said. “I’m familiar with everybody. Winning culture. They know me, know my skill set. It seemed like a great fit, great opportunity.”
