Syracuse Orange Lands Home Another Committed 4-Star

Vaughn Karvala, a highly regarded 2026 prospect from Wisconsin, recently visited Syracuse basketball and announced on his X page that he received a scholarship offer from the Orange staff.

Standing at 6-foot-6, Karvala is a four-star small forward in the junior class. He gained significant attention in early October after climbing into the top 55 of the 2026 rankings, as updated by On3, a leading recruiting service.

Karvala is a student at Oregon High School in Oregon, Wis. Meanwhile, another standout from Wisconsin, three-star wing Aaron Womack from Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Wis., officially signed with Syracuse last week as part of its 2025 recruiting class.

Between late April and late May, during the latest AAU regular season, Karvala excelled while playing for the 16U team of Milwaukee-based Team Herro in Nike’s EYBL league. Over that stretch, he averaged 13.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

In addition to Syracuse, Karvala has received offers from programs like Arizona State, Marquette, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Arkansas State, and Northern Michigan, according to recruiting services.

In On3’s latest rankings update for the 2026 class, Karvala made an impressive leap, climbing 64 spots from No. 117 to No. 53 nationally. He is also ranked as the No. 18 small forward and the top prospect from Wisconsin in his class.

At the time of writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranked Vaughn Karvala as a four-star prospect, No. 113 nationally, No. 40 among small forwards, and the top player in Wisconsin for the 2026 class.

So far, at least 15 high school juniors have received scholarship offers from Syracuse, though the coaching staff may not be actively pursuing all of them at this stage. Recently, Syracuse extended offers to three 2026 prospects from CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix: four-star guard Rokiem Green, four-star center Aliou Dioum, and four-star point guard Miles Sadler.

Other juniors who seem to be key targets for Syracuse in the 2026 class include five-star shooting guard Jordan Smith Jr., five-star guard/small forward Alex Constanza, and five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr., among others.

Smith and Rippey have made unofficial visits to Syracuse, while Constanza took an official visit to the program about a month ago.
