49ers QB Brock Purdy Could Miss Bills match Due To New Discoveries

The San Francisco 49ers will start Brandon Allen at quarterback in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers. This decision comes after Brock Purdy, the team’s usual starter, was sidelined late in the week due to a shoulder injury sustained during their 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

There is hope that Purdy will be ready to face the Buffalo Bills in Week 13, but according to an update from NFL insider Jay Glazer on Sunday, some uncertainty remains about his availability.

“He injured his arm last week against Seattle,” Glazer shared during FOX’s NFL pregame show. “An MRI on Monday revealed a shoulder sprain. He practiced on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the team believed he was progressing well. However, when he attempted to throw on Thursday, his shoulder locked up. Although another MRI on Thursday didn’t reveal anything new, there’s still uncertainty about his return. The plan is to focus on rehab and hope he’s ready next week, but there’s no definitive timeline yet.”

The 49ers have been a dominant force in the NFC over the last five years, reaching the NFC Championship Game in four of those seasons. This year, however, injuries have significantly impacted the team, leaving them with a 5-5 record heading into Week 12.

Regardless of whether Purdy plays, it’s unlikely he will be at full strength when the 49ers face the Bills at Highmark Stadium on Sunday Night Football next week.
