49ers vs Bills: Kyle Shanahan Says Bills Fans May Have Overhyped win over Chiefs

In Week 11, the Buffalo Bills reached a high point by defeating the previously unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs in Orchard Park. They extended their regular-season winning streak against the Chiefs to four games with a 30-21 victory before heading into their bye week.

Josh Allen’s electrifying 26-yard touchdown run sealed the game and lifted Buffalo’s spirits to an all-time high. The Bills made a bold statement by defeating the Chiefs, proving they’re here to stay—or did they?

Bills’ victory over Chiefs doesn’t look as impressive anymore

While the Bills enjoyed their bye week and got some extra rest, the Chiefs came back out to the east coast to take on the Carolina Panthers. Going into halftime, the Chiefs were up 20-9 and Chiefs’ tight end Noah Gray was the star of the show with two first-half touchdowns. Once the second half arrived, it became a different ball game.

You might expect Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to dominate Bryce Young and the struggling Carolina Panthers, but that wasn’t how things played out.

Both teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter, and the Panthers rallied with 11 points to tie the game at 28 with just 1:46 remaining in the fourth quarter. It was the perfect setup for a Chiefs walk-off. Facing a crucial third down, Patrick Mahomes came through once again, scrambling for 33 yards to set up the game-winning field goal.

While the Chiefs secured their 10th win, it was far from convincing. Sure, the NFL operates on a week-to-week basis, but a team like the Chiefs shouldn’t be struggling against the Panthers. Performances like this raise questions about whether the Bills’ victory over the Chiefs was truly as significant as it seemed.

In the end, a win is still a win, and the Bills beating the Chiefs in the regular season has become almost routine. Ending their unbeaten streak was satisfying at the time, but it’s now clear the Chiefs may not have deserved that perfect record to begin with.
