The Buffalo Bills are coming off a dominant 35-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in snowy conditions, but not everyone is satisfied with how they secured the win.
At a pivotal point in the game, Bills wide receiver Mack Hollins seemed to grab the dreadlocks of 49ers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell. The incident happened quickly but left a lasting impression on the seasoned linebacker.
He believes the issue should be addressed, either during the game or afterward.
“He did that [expletive] on purpose,” Campbell stated. “There’s no way he can convince me otherwise. It’s fine, though—we’ll cross paths again someday in the real world.”
The controversial play occurred during a Buffalo passing attempt from the 49ers’ 8-yard line. As Bills quarterback Josh Allen scrambled to his right and neared the end zone, Campbell shifted his focus from covering Hollins to tracking Allen, who was running with the ball.
As the 49ers linebacker turned his attention away, Hollins pulled on Campbell’s hair to hold him back.
Allen still managed to score, and Hollins avoided a penalty on the play. However, Campbell made it clear it was an incident he wouldn’t forget anytime soon.
“Just so he knows, if I ever see him, it’s on,” Campbell said. “He’s going to have to face me.”
“One day, our paths will cross again.”
While Hollins is currently a backup on Buffalo’s offense, his actions may have brought unnecessary attention to the entire team.
