Breaking: Syracuse Orange Bolster Squad Depth In Commitment Of Another Talented Player

Jasmine Nixon, a player from Indian Land High School in Fort Mill, S.C., has committed to enrolling and playing soccer at Syracuse, as announced by Coach Nicky Thrasher Adams.

Nixon is transferring to Syracuse from the University of Kentucky, where she appeared in seven games and played 121 minutes during the fall season. Kentucky had a 6-1 record in the games she participated in.

At Indian Land High School, Nixon earned recognition for her athleticism, being named a three-time South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) 4A All-State selection and the SCHSL 4A Region Player of the Year. She was also honored as the 2023-24 Indian Land High School Female Athlete of the Year.

Nixon also played for Charlotte Soccer Academy, where she served as team captain and earned 2023 U18/19 Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) All-America honors. She was named the 2023 U18/19 ECNL Mid-Atlantic Player of the Year and was a three-time first-team all-conference selection. Under her leadership, Charlotte Soccer Academy won the ECNL Mid-Atlantic Conference Championship.

She is the daughter of Jeff and Laura Nixon, with her father serving as the offensive coordinator for the Syracuse football team. Jasmine also has two sisters, Faith and Hope, and a brother, William, who plays football at Syracuse.

Nixon will be joining four other new recruits at Syracuse: Julia Arbelaez (Somers/Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), Olivia Bozzo (Smithtown East/St. James, N.Y.), Bree Bridges (Colgan/Manassas, Va.), and Abby Incorvaia (Waldwick/Ridgewood, N.J.).
