Breaking: Tennessee Lands Home Another Commitment Of a Top Star From a Good Team.

Tennessee secured a commitment from another 2026 wide receiver late Sunday evening. Three-star recruit Tyran Evans revealed his decision to join the Volunteers, selecting them over Florida, Miami, Florida State, and a number of other schools.

A native of North Carolina, the receiver received an offer from Tennessee in November and quickly visited Knoxville twice. Evans was evidently impressed by Tennessee early on, committing just two months after the initial offer.

Standing at 6-3, Evans made a name for himself in recruiting circles with an impressive 14 touchdown season last fall at William Amos Hough High School in the Charlotte area. He averaged over 27 yards per catch during his breakout year. Heading into his senior season, Evans ranks just outside the top 500 prospects for the class of 2026, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

An important detail — Tennessee is also pursuing Evans’ teammate, Samari Matthews, a top 100 cornerback prospect.

Evans joins four-star wide receiver Tyreek King in Tennessee’s 2026 recruiting class. With seven commitments so far, the Volunteers’ class is led by the No. 1 overall prospect, Faizon Brandon.
