Major Breaking: Braves Have Just Traded For $34 Million Star After Bombshell Report

The Toronto Blue Jays and their standout shortstop, Bo Bichette, have yet to agree on a contract extension this offseason, sparking widespread trade speculation surrounding the young player.

Although the Blue Jays haven’t explicitly stated they’re looking to trade Bo Bichette, it’s hard to imagine they aren’t open to hearing offers for him.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today recently suggested that the Blue Jays’ young shortstop is “as good as gone,” potentially pushing Toronto to trade the 26-year-old.

“This is the final season before Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette hit free agency,” Bob Nightengale wrote. “According to friends, Bichette has little interest in returning and is as good as gone.”

The Atlanta Braves are among the teams that could express interest in Bo Bichette. As perennial World Series contenders, the Braves had a disappointing 2024 season, with much of their lineup underperforming and key players like Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider sidelined by injuries.

Orlando Arcia stood out on the roster for all the wrong reasons, as his performance was notably subpar.

Replacing Orlando Arcia with Bo Bichette would be a significant upgrade for the Braves. Atlanta also has the financial resources to realistically negotiate an extension with Bichette before, during, or after the 2025 season.

If Bo Bichette is indeed set on leaving, it would be unwise for the Blue Jays to keep him. Trading him to Atlanta could bring Toronto a pair of promising young pitchers, with names like Hurston Waldrep, AJ Smith-Shawver, Bryce Elder, and others emerging as potential trade targets.
