– Odell Beckham Jr.’s contract with the Dolphins includes a void year, reducing his 2024 cap hit to $2.1 million. If Beckham is not re-signed by the 2025 league year, the Dolphins will incur a $900,000 dead money charge.
– The Bills have yet to announce their defensive play-caller for the upcoming season. Head coach Sean McDermott stated that the decision will be delayed until at least training camp. McDermott himself called plays last season after the departure of defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, but the Bills have since hired Bobby Babich as DC.
– Former Patriots player Matthew Slater has transitioned into coaching full-time, serving as an assistant to head coach Jerod Mayo. Slater, a perennial Pro Bowler, is providing input on team-building and character development.
– Beau Bell, a member of the 2008 NFL draft class, has joined the Dolphins as a pro scout. Bell, who played briefly in the NFL and later served as GM of the Arena Football League’s Philadelphia Soul, has now taken on a full-time scouting role after an apprenticeship with the Rams.
