Major Breaking: South Carolina’s Shane Beamer Lands Another Lucrative Contract Deal

The new contract for Beamer keeps him in Columbia through 2030.

South Carolina Gamecocks head football coach Shane Beamer has signed a lucrative contract extension that will keep him in Columbia through the 2030 season. The deal, approved by the school’s board of trustees on Friday morning, will pay Beamer $8.15 million for the upcoming season, with an annual salary increase of $100,000 throughout the life of the contract.

Athletic director Jeremiah Donati praised Beamer for establishing a culture of excellence within the football program, noting that the team is on a strong upward trajectory. “Coach Beamer has made clear his desire to be at the University of South Carolina, and this extension shows our collective support for him as the leader of our football program,” Donati said.

Donati, who became the school’s athletic director earlier this month, wasted no time in securing the extension for Beamer. Under Beamer’s leadership, South Carolina has steadily returned to competitiveness in the SEC. The Gamecocks finished the 2024 season with a 9-4 record, marking Beamer’s best finish in his four years at the helm. Over the past four seasons, Beamer has compiled a 29-22 record, with three of those years ending with a winning record and a bowl appearance.

Looking ahead, South Carolina is poised to be ranked at the start of the 2025 season, with quarterback LaNorris Sellers set to return under center.
