Breaking: South Carolina Gamecocks Secures Commitments Of A Top Talented Player

The South Carolina Gamecocks have secured a strong 2025 recruiting class, featuring top in-state talents like wide receiver Donovan Murph from Irmo High School and Malik Clark from Rock Hill. The class is ranked No. 20 nationally and No. 12 in the SEC, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Four-star wide receiver Donovan Murph has officially committed to South Carolina football, becoming part of head coach Shane Beamer’s 2025 recruiting class. The Irmo native confirmed his decision to join the Gamecocks on January 2, just ahead of the 2024 Under Armour All-America Game. On National Signing Day, Murph signed his letter of intent in his high school auditorium.

Murph picked South Carolina over offers from Clemson, Ole Miss, Colorado, and Tennessee. He was present at the Palmetto Bowl on November 30, where the Gamecocks triumphed over Clemson 17-14.

Beamer had already secured 25 high school commitments on December 4, the first day of the early signing period. By the end of the day, he also added three recruits who flipped and one late addition. Murph now joins December signees Malik Clark, Jordon Gidron, Jayden Sellers, Brian Rowe, and Lex Cyrus in the 2025 wide receiver class.

  • #6 Donovan Murph, WR: A 6’2″, 190-pound wide receiver from Irmo High School in South Carolina, Murph reclassified from the class of 2026 to 2025. In his junior year, he led his team to a 13-2 record and a 5A Division II state championship appearance, recording 96 receptions for 1,328 yards and 12 touchdowns. His previous season saw 57 catches for 1,084 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 13-1 record and a South Carolina 4A semifinal appearance. He is also the cousin of former Gamecock standout Alshon Jeffery.
  • #79 Damola Ajidahun, OL: An offensive line prospect from Duluth High School in Georgia. Ajidahun enrolled at South Carolina in January. He was a four-year letterwinner and anchored the Wildcats’ offensive line. Originally from England, Ajidahun moved to the U.S. in fifth grade and began playing football as a freshman. He was born on June 21, 2007.
  • Mike Tyler, TE: A tight end from Hammond School in Columbia, Tyler helped lead the SkyHawks to their fourth consecutive SCISA state championship in 2024 with 38 catches for 618 yards and six touchdowns. He will join South Carolina in the summer after graduation.
  • #5 Kendall Daniels Jr., DB: A 6’4″, 205-pound defensive back from Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia, Daniels enrolled at South Carolina in January 2025. He earned first-team all-state honors and contributed to his team’s perfect 16-0 season, culminating in the 5A state championship.
  • Christian Ingram, DL: A defensive line prospect from Newton High School in Conyers, Ga., Ingram will join South Carolina in the summer. He recorded 38 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and six sacks in his senior season, helping the Rams to a 7-5 record.
  • #42 Josh Smith, LB: A linebacker from Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, S.C., Smith enrolled at South Carolina in January. He recorded 96 tackles, 16 for loss, nine sacks, and six quarterback hurries, helping his team to a 13-0 record and the 2024 5A Division I state title.
  • #7 Jordon Gidron, WR: A wide receiver from Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C., Gidron reclassified to the class of 2025 and enrolled at South Carolina in January. Despite suffering a knee injury, he caught 17 passes for 121 yards, had four carries for 27 yards, and scored a kickoff return touchdown in three games in 2024. He was a standout track athlete as well, winning the South Carolina 4A state titles in the 100m and 200m.

  • Christopher Hatfield, DB: A defensive back from Long County High School in Ludowici, Ga., Hatfield will join South Carolina in the summer. He recorded 49 tackles and eight interceptions in his senior season and is also a standout basketball player.
  • #33 Kyler Farrow, LS: A long snapper from Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wisc., Farrow enrolled in January. He posted an average snap time of 0.67 seconds at a Kohl’s Kicking specialist showcase, ranking fifth in the country.
  • Max Kelley, K: A kicking specialist from Gallatin High School in Tennessee, Kelley will join South Carolina in the summer. He made 57-of-65 career PATs and 16-of-23 field goals, including a career-long 51-yard field goal.
  • #32 AJ Holloway, LB: A linebacker from Buford High School in Georgia, Holloway enrolled at South Carolina in January. He recorded 71 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, and nine quarterback hurries in his senior season.
