The Hokies make the Top 5 for a priority Class of 2026 offensive line recruit who locked in an official visit to Virginia Tech this spring.
The college football recruiting season for the Class of 2026 is underway, and top recruits are starting to confirm their visit dates for the spring. Some will visit in April during the Spring Games weekend, while others are scheduling visits for the key period in June.
Virginia Tech is finalizing its visits for the next few months, including one for a priority offensive lineman who recently released his Top 5 schools. The Hokies are among the finalists, alongside two other ACC schools and two SEC schools.
Virginia Tech will host OL recruit Tre Aiken from June 12-15. After firing offensive coordinator Ron Crook in December, Coach Brent Pry hired Matt Moore, the former West Virginia offensive line coach, to replace him. Moore, known for developing NFL linemen, is a highly respected coach, and his influence is evident as former Mountaineer players follow him to Blacksburg.
Moore has a significant rebuilding task ahead of him this season and beyond, and recruiting this spring is crucial. He will host Aiken, a highly regarded prospect from Clinton, South Carolina, while competing with Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Florida, and South Carolina for his commitment.
Aiken visited Virginia Tech last October during the Hokies’ 21-6 win over Georgia Tech, but according to 247Sports, he’s now planning to return in April for the Spring Game at Lane Stadium.
As of now, Virginia Tech’s Class of 2026 includes a commitment from wide receiver Carnell Warren. However, Aiken is likely a top priority for both Coach Matt Moore and Coach Brent Pry. Given the Hokies’ recent success recruiting in South Carolina, they appear to have a strong chance of securing the 6-foot-3, 286-pound Aiken.
