Bills Linked Chief Signing Of $140 Million Receiver From AFC East

After another playoff defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs—this time in the AFC Championship—the Buffalo Bills are once again searching for the key move to push them past their postseason struggles.

The Bills will likely focus on upgrading their receiver group this offseason. Khalil Shakir made significant strides in the slot, and rookie Keon Coleman showed promise, but with veterans Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper entering free agency and uncertainty surrounding Shakir as a top target, questions remain about the position.

The Bills might find help within their own state, as division rival the New York Jets could be looking to trade a key receiving target.

Davante Adams still has two years remaining on his contract, but many expect the Jets to release him before free agency to avoid paying his $35.64 million salary. With the team moving on from Aaron Rodgers, Adams seems unlikely to have any interest in staying.

The Bills were reportedly involved in trade talks for Davante Adams last year, but he ultimately landed with the Jets instead.

The Bills ultimately shifted their focus to acquiring Amari Cooper, indicating they had strong aspirations for Adams to be a key part of their Super Bowl push.

In October, FOX Sports analyst Colin Cowherd discussed the possibility of Davante Adams joining the Bills, describing it as a perfect fit between the six-time Pro Bowler, three-time All-Pro, and quarterback Josh Allen.

“If the Bills reached out to you, how could you even consider other teams?” Cowherd rhetorically asked Adams on his show.
