Just In: South Carolina Lands Home Another Committed 4-Star

Agot Makeer, ranked No. 4 in the Class of 2025, has committed to South Carolina, choosing the Gamecocks over UConn and Michigan State.

Dawn Staley and her team have secured another top-tier recruit for the 2025 class. Agot Makeer, the No. 4 overall player and the top-ranked combo guard, has chosen to commit to the South Carolina Gamecocks, opting for them over UConn and Michigan State. Her commitment further reinforces Coach Staley’s vision for the continued success of the women’s program.

Agot Makeer, a 6-foot-2 guard and small forward from Toronto, Canada, has become South Carolina’s second top-25 recruit for the 2025 class, joining No. 22 Ayla McDowell from Texas. Currently attending Monteverde Academy in Florida, Makeer was instrumental in leading the Canadian U17 women’s basketball team to a silver medal at the 2024 FIBA U17 Women’s Basketball World Cup, where she averaged 17.7 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Makeer’s versatility as both a guard and small forward will provide the Gamecocks with even more flexibility for the upcoming season.
