This Is Why It Pays To Add Depth, Another Rangers two-time All-Star Reportedly Down With Uncertain Injury Recovery

Rangers outfielder Adolis García was removed from the lineup for Tuesday’s spring training game against the Athletics and will have an MRI on his left oblique, the same injury he sustained during their World Series run two years ago.

A two-time All-Star, García is looking to recover from a disappointing season where he batted .224 with 24 home runs and 85 RBIs across 154 games. He has recorded six hits and two walks in 21 plate appearances during this spring training.

The injury raises concerns about García’s availability for Opening Day on March 27 against the Boston Red Sox.

“He’s going to miss a little time. We’re hoping it won’t be too much,” said Texas manager Bruce Bochy.

Adolis García's Struggles Leave Huge Hole In Texas Rangers Lineup

García is the second Rangers outfielder to be sidelined by an oblique injury this spring, following Wyatt Langford, who was injured on February 21. Langford is still recovering, but Bochy mentioned that Langford could potentially make his exhibition debut this week.

The 23-year-old Langford, the fourth overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, made a strong impact for Texas last season, hitting .253 with 16 home runs, 74 RBIs, and 19 stolen bases in just 134 games.
