Lions Announce They’ve Re-Signed Hard-nosed Veteran Wide Receiver

The Detroit Lions have officially re-signed veteran wide receiver Tim Patrick for the 2025 season. This move, while not unexpected, comes after Patrick made his intentions clear. On March 13, Patrick posted a picture on his Instagram story featuring a jacket with a message that read, “I only want to work with the Lions.” His desire to return to the team was evident, and just one day later, the Lions made it official by announcing his re-signing.

Patrick’s return adds depth to the Lions’ receiving corps for the upcoming season. His clear enthusiasm for staying with the team and his consistent performance make him a valuable asset for Detroit’s offensive plans in 2025.

Tim Patrick’s new deal with the Detroit Lions is reportedly worth up to $4 million, marking a significant step in his career after a successful 2024 season. This makes Patrick the 10th player from the Lions’ 2024 roster to be re-signed during the offseason.

Patrick’s first year with the Lions was a comeback story, as he had missed the previous two seasons (2022 and 2023) due to a torn ACL and torn Achilles. The Lions took a chance on him, and the decision paid off as he established himself as a reliable WR3.

Despite competing for targets with other talented pass-catchers, Patrick made 33 receptions for 394 yards and three touchdowns. Impressively, he turned 20 of those catches into first downs, proving his worth as a solid option in the passing game.

The re-signing ensures that Patrick will continue to hold the WR3 spot for at least another season, and with a raise from his previous contract, which was worth $1.125 million, he’ll be well-compensated for his contributions.
