Approved In: Steelers Lands Home Another Key Positioned Weapon In A 2 year Bridged Deal

The Steelers have signed wide receiver Ben Skowronek to a two-year deal.

Skowronek started the 2024 season on Pittsburgh’s practice squad and was elevated for the Week 1 matchup against the Falcons and Week 2 against the Broncos before landing on the Reserve/Injured List on September 18.

He was added to the 53-man roster in November and played in 10 games, starting one. He ended the season with five catches for 69 yards, averaging 13.8 yards per reception.

In addition to his offensive contributions, Skowronek made a significant impact on special teams, tying for fourth on the team with seven special teams tackles (four solo) and leading the team with two fumble recoveries.

Skowronek was originally selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, 249th overall. During his time with the Rams, he played in 45 games, starting 12, and recorded 58 receptions for 575 yards. He also had a stint with the Houston Texans.

He began his college career at Northwestern before transferring to Notre Dame for his final season. At Notre Dame, he played in 11 games, totaling 29 receptions for 439 yards and five touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns came against the University of Pittsburgh at Acrisure Stadium, where he had an impressive performance with two catches for 107 yards—both resulting in touchdowns of 34 and 73 yards.
