The Chiefs re-signed Hunt on Monday
On Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs brought back an important player from last season’s offense, as running back Kareem Hunt re-signed with the three-time defending AFC champions.
Hunt was the team’s leader in carries (200), rushing yards (728), and rushing touchdowns (7) last year, despite joining the Chiefs in Week 4. He also contributed 28 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns during their playoff run.

The 29-year-old Hunt was also a key factor in the Chiefs leading the NFL in the fewest negative rushes (excluding kneeldowns) last season, highlighted by his 500 yards gained after first contact.
Hunt played a crucial role in stabilizing the Chiefs’ offense after the team lost running back Isiah Pacheco in Week 2. Now, with a solid 2024 season behind him, he’s returning for another year in Kansas City.
