BREAKING: BYU special player have departed to Rival

Louisville’s head coach, Pat Kelsey, has secured the commitment of Noah Waterman, a 6-foot-11 center from BYU. This marks Waterman’s fourth collegiate program, and he’ll have one year of eligibility left. His decision to join Louisville comes shortly after visiting the program.

Originally from Savannah, N.Y., Waterman spent the past two seasons at BYU after transferring from Detroit Mercy, where he played for a couple of years following his freshman season at Niagara.

During his time at BYU, Waterman played in 66 games, starting 47, and averaged 9.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this past season. He showcased his ability to score from beyond the arc, shooting 37% on three-point attempts. In his previous season, he averaged 4.6 points and 2.8 rebounds.

Before BYU, Waterman had a stint at Detroit Mercy, appearing in 36 games with 29 starts and averaging 9.6 points and 4.2 rebounds over two seasons.

His college career began at Niagara, where he played in seven games as a freshman before suffering a season-ending injury.

Waterman’s high school career at Finger Lakes Christian School in Niagara, N.Y., was impressive, earning him MVP honors in the Empire State Christian Athletic League in 2017 and 2018. As a senior, he posted impressive stats, averaging 33.9 points, 12.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 3.9 blocks per game.
