Florida Gators Score Big: Major Weapon Chooses Gainesville for College Career, Welcome Home!!!

The Florida Gators had a solid season under head coach Billy Napier, finishing 8-5, marking their first winning season since 2020, and defeating the Tulane Green Wave 33-8 in the Gasparilla Bowl.

However, as always, there’s room for growth, and Napier has kept Florida highly active in recruiting top-tier talent. The Gators’ 2025 recruiting class is particularly impressive, ranked No. 7 among SEC teams and No. 10 nationally by On3.

Although most players have already committed late in the cycle, the Gators added another standout recruit on Monday: cornerback Ja’Vari Flowers from Miami.

This is a major win for Florida, as On3 industry rankings currently have Ja’Vari Flowers listed as a four-star recruit. He is ranked the No. 18 player in Florida, the No. 16 cornerback, and the No. 120 player in the nation.

Napier and the Gators clearly worked hard to secure his commitment, as Flowers had offers from several prestigious programs, including Miami, Georgia, Notre Dame, Auburn, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

His commitment adds to an already impressive 2025 recruiting class for Florida, which also includes standout names like five-star wide receiver Vernell Brown III, four-star cornerback Ben Hanks III, four-star safety Hylton Stubbs, and four-star EDGE Jayden Woods.
