Kentucky Wildcats Land Pitt’s Jaland Lowe in Transfer Portal Move
As Mark Pope prepares for his second season in Lexington, he’s making significant strides in building his 2025-26 roster. On Saturday morning, Pope secured another key addition with the commitment of Pitt Panthers point guard Jaland Lowe to the Kentucky Wildcats.
Lowe, who spent the last two years at Pitt, had an impressive 2024-25 season, averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. His performance earned him third-team All-ACC honors, further solidifying his reputation as a top-tier player. He also demonstrated consistent durability, starting every game he played for the Panthers last season—a quality that Kentucky’s roster can greatly benefit from.

Currently ranked as the 20th-best player in the transfer portal by 247 Sports, Lowe’s addition is a major boost for Pope and his staff. This move comes just days after Kam Williams, formerly of Tulane, also committed to Kentucky, strengthening the Wildcats’ backcourt options as they prepare for the new season.
